Two mates are better than one...

Vanessa lives vicariously through the romance heroines in her overflowing bookshelf. No real man can ever measure up to the sultry, shapeshifter heroes with their feral smiles—or so she thinks until a creepy costume shop and a chance encounter with a fortuneteller shake up her ordinary life. When Vanessa’s best friend brings her to a sexy costume party, she realizes more than fur is going to fly.

Rick is an Alpha cat shifter and co-owner of the Imaginarium. When he scents the luscious Vanessa, he has no intention of letting her slip away. But Rick isn’t the only man searching for his one true love. Cian is a former Captain of the Winter Court in Faery, wielder of shadows and magic. When Fey enchantment and shifter might collide, more than mere hearts are caught in the crossfire. And as a threat looms closer with the turning of the season, both men may be the keys to Vanessa’s heart—and her survival.

“Do you want your fortune told, my dear?” The crone’s rheumy eyes met hers, and a shiver slid down her back. The woman gave her the willies.
“I...”
“Please. Be my guest. It will be my treat to show you your fortune.”
Indecision warred within her. “I’m here with my friend.”
“Go ahead! Get your fortune read.” Aria came up beside her and looped an arm around her neck. “Let’s find out what kind of night you’re going to have at the party.”
“OK.” Vanessa made her way to the small table and lowered herself into the seat. In front of her laid a strange-looking Ouija board printed with an alphabet and a yes and no.
The older woman took an item out of a wooden box and placed it carefully on the surface of the board.
“What’s that?”
“It’s called a planchette, silly.” Aria rolled her eyes and grinned at the annoyed look Vanessa gave her.
“I’ve never used one of these, OK? My father would kill me.”
“Why? Does he think they’re a portal to some other dimension or something?”
Vanessa wrinkled her nose. “I’m not sure. He just never let anything like it in the house. It’s beautiful.” The workmanship of the board and the intricate lettering transfixed her. She reached out to touch the planchette but the older woman stopped her.
“Not yet, my girl. First you must think of a question.”
“What kind of question?”
The woman’s thin lips curved upward. “The spirit board offers much guidance but also warns of things to come. Ask the right questions and you’ll find the answers you seek.”
“Cryptic, much?” Aria yawned. “Why don’t you play with the board and I’ll find you something to wear.”
“Sure. Whatever.” Vanessa focused her attention on the board in front of her. The letters weaved in front of her eyes.
“Now,” the old woman began, her eyes bright in her pale face, “think of the question you would like to ask the spirits. But be warned…”
“Of what?”
“The truth can wound or it can set you free.”
Vanessa held out her hand and the old woman enveloped it in her own. She placed Vanessa’s hand on the planchette and released her. “Fingertips only. Now…think of what you want to ask.”
Vanessa moved her fingers until only the tips touched the planchette. Her mind raced. There were so many questions she wanted answers to. Who was her mother? Not her father’s wife, but her biological mother. Should she go to this party with Aria on Friday or stay home like she always did, safe behind a pile of books?
Before the woman placed her own fingertips on the planchette, it took off toward the yes. Then it sped to the letters and began to spell out something.
“What the—?” Vanessa snatched her fingers away as if they’d been singed.
“Goddess…” The fortune-teller stood abruptly, knocking her chair over. Her brow contorted and her eyes were owlish with fear showing a ring of veined white around the iris. “Stop.”
“It’s still moving,” Vanessa whispered, her pulse hammering beneath her skin. “I’m trying to make out what it’s saying, but the thing is going too fast.”
“What’s going on over here?” Aria scrambled back toward the table, an expression of horror on her face. “Jesus, Vanessa.”
“I didn’t do it,” she snapped. “It’s wigging out.”
“Obviously.”
The old woman backed up, her eyes wide. “You must go to the party. Something you need will be revealed to you there. That is all I can tell you.” With that, she yanked the planchette off the board and swiftly tucked it back into the wooden box it came from. Without looking at either of the girls, the fortune-teller retreated into the back room, the door shutting behind her with a resounding thud.
“Thanks,” Vanessa called, a little too late.
“OK then. That wasn’t weird.” Aria grimaced. “Come on. I have a couple of dresses you need to look at.”
“Yeah. Sure. OK.” Anything to get her mind off of whatever just happened. “Freaky” didn’t even begin to cover it.
“How about this?” Aria raised her arm and a flowing Egyptian priestess costume dangled from her fingertips. The white fabric was sheer, but it had so many layers, it had the potential to work. Around the hanger was a plastic bag complete with golden armbands and some kind of bluish lapis necklace.
“OK,” Vanessa replied reluctantly. “Hand it over.”
Aria scurried over and passed the dress off, a smirk on her full lips. “This is going to look great on you. Just wait.”
“Sure.” As long as it got her out of here faster. Vanessa decided putting distance between the fortune-teller and her would be a good thing. “Why did I let you talk me into this again?”
“Cause you love me and you’ll have lots of fun?”
“You haven’t even told me what kind of party it is.”
Aria gave her a cheeky grin. “And ruin the surprise?”

characterobsession1l   Thank you so much for having me on your blog today. I visited with my re-released title, Character Obsession. It was published by my publisher, Breathless Press, but they were closed some time ago. I am so grateful that Evernight adopted this story. I was so happy with some additional parts suggested by my editor here in Evernight. I think they were a great idea!

  Title: Character Obsession
  Publisher: Evernight Publishing
  Genre: MM Contemporary Romance
  Word count: 14,800
  Heat Level: 3

  Blurb:

Chase Riley, a Hollywood actor, is kidnapped. One of the abductors, Luke Nelson, is delusional and thinks that Chase is Elliot, the character Chase plays in his procedural cop series on TV. Luke plans to replay what happened to Elliot on the show with Chase. The worse thing is that Luke gets help from his father who seems to be as crazy as his son.
Chase's boyfriend, co-actor Aidan Buffett, is on a trip with his sister when Chase is abducted. He grows worried when his call to Chase goes unanswered. Will he ever see his boyfriend again?

This is a previously published work. It has been edited for Evernight Publishing.
Be Warned: m/m sex

  Excerpt:

Chase’s mind whirled and before he thought of anything else, he grabbed the door and threw himself out—or so he thought. The man was faster. A lot faster. He seized Chase by his jacket and just—stabbed him in his side. Chase caught his breath, and for some time he didn’t realize what happened. He sucked in a breath and whimpered when the guy yanked the knife out none too gently. Chase felt his world darken so he didn’t notice when the man slipped out of the car, came to be at the driver’s door, and wrenched him out from behind the steering wheel. As his breathing turned labored, Chase grappled at the source of the pain on his side and winced as he grasped it.
“Come on. Move.” The guy grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed Chase in front of him.
Chase swayed in the man's clutches, but he pulled himself up as he controlled his breath.
Chase attempted to plant his feet as he was dragged up the stairs, but the pain had become too much and he could only comply. At one time the man rested him against the wall, took off his sunglasses, and pulled down his jacket hood, revealing himself. Chase gasped. The man was practically the mirror image of that Bob Nelson he met earlier at the diner, only rounder and much sturdier. And also a lot younger. What worried Chase was this man took off his disguise and didn’t seem too concerned he could recognize him. Not like Chase would be able to escape him and go to the cops, anyway. He was too sluggish to even move. They'd come in the back door, but not much attention was given to them by those at the front desk. Chase suspected that the man had stayed in the hotel long enough that he'd become just another familiar face.
The man's grip tighten around his arm, but Chase kept his glare toward the receptionist in an attempt to get his attention—which failed totally—for the guy kept his head down. As his abductor dragged him toward the elevator, Chase palmed his side and lifted his hand with dread. It was damp and deep red with blood.
"Don’t do anything you’re going to regret," the guy whispered to his ear as they got into the elevator, which, to Chase's dismay, was empty. "I don't want to have to kill you, Elliot. I love you."
Chase turned cold at the mention of his character's name. "I'm not Elliot," he choked out. "I'm Chase."
"Hush." The man pulled Chase's back against him, wrapping his long, muscled arm around Chase's shoulders, waving the knife before Chase’s eyes.
 Chase began to tremble.

CHAPTER ONE
Magdalay Rousseau stared at her lifeless laptop and groaned. It wouldn’t turn on. Again. So much for a lasting battery. Already irritated from lack of sleep, she pressed the on button one more time and tried to recall where she’d left the charger. It should be in the little plastic bag she usually kept next to her laptop, but it wasn’t.
“Great. I can’t believe this. I ought to just spell you and be done with it.”
She growled and pushed herself up from the small space at the kitchen table. Perhaps it was in her work bag in the foyer. She hated resorting to magic when real world solutions worked just fine. It had been a point of contention with her mother for years. Besides, she wasn’t very good at it. Wish for rain and get a flood in her kitchen. That was her life right now.
Magdalay peered into the bag.
Nothing.
“Oh. This is just getting better and better.”
Magdalay spun on her heel and considered her next move. She had a deadline for her publisher, and today would be her only day off with no distractions until next week. Not that she could focus anyway. Not with the antics Russ was pulling lately. Her mind kept circling him like a dog with a bone.
He’d been out with the boys from the club, but something in the back of her mind kept digging at her. Their poker games didn’t last that long. Neither did their dinners at the club, which she now refused to attend. Not after the last time with his uppity friends and their equally unpleasant wives. She didn’t fit in with the country club scene, and that was more than all right with her.
Russ hadn’t come home—again—by the time her head hit the pillow last night at midnight. It was becoming par for the course. Magdalay couldn’t concentrate on anything and that included leaving her damn charging cable someplace. She could swear it was next to her workstation last night when she went to bed, but she could have been dreaming. She couldn’t remember, and that just pissed her off, making her already foul mood even more noxious.
“Did you wash my pants?” Russ called out from the bedroom, his voice lacking any of the warmth she used to receive from him.
“Yes,” she ground out, barely containing her urge to demand where the hell he’d been all damned night. It didn’t do any good. He never answered her anyway. “They’re folded on the dryer.”
Her husband, Russ, clad in a blue pullover shirt and tighty-whities bolted from their bedroom down the short hall toward the laundry room. The door opened and shut, and she caught a streak of blue out of the corner of her eye but no acknowledgement or thank you.
Next time she ought to let his clothes just pile up and see what happened. Well…she took that back. A week ago, she’d been too busy to keep up with the laundry and he’d shaken her awake after a long day at the shop and writing, demanding to know when she would get around to it. The icy stare was enough to motivate her into preemptive action. She’d never been afraid of her husband before that night, but things had changed between them at an alarming rate.
She poured the water into the coffeepot and flipped on the switch, sighing as the rich aroma of the Columbian blend pervaded the kitchen. It was still early, and she’d spent a sleepless night tossing and turning and imagining his car wrapped around a pole or worse. The man hadn’t come home until after two. At least that was the last time she recalled on the blinking clock on the nightstand. Russ hadn’t even had the decency to let her know where he was or if he was OK. Magdalay didn’t remember him sneaking in. She’d tried to stay awake so she could talk to him or at least give him a piece of her mind, but she must have drifted off in a wave of jittery exhaustion.
Last night had just been the latest in a long line of whatever was happening in their marriage and fixing it was becoming a pipe dream. He’d grown more and more distant over the past three months and she didn’t know what had gone wrong. Well…except for her working. He hated the hours she spent away from home, but with her mother’s passing, Broomstix had become hers. The irony wasn’t lost on her. A witch who didn’t want to be, or worse yet, was terrible at it.
She thought back to her mother’s last days and the love she had for her trusty cat, Jules. They’d been inseparable.
“You need a familiar, love. Sometimes having someone at your back and by your side is the most powerful magic in the world.”
Magdalay’s lips twisted and she sighed. It wasn’t like she hadn’t tried. Every cat she’d gotten went missing in a matter of days. When she’d gone to Russ about the missing animals, he’d had nothing to say. Frustrating wasn’t even half the word for it. Perhaps she wasn’t cut out for animals. Then she thought all she needed was her soul mate. That would have to be enough. She’d always thought Russ was that person, but more and more, she sensed a tremendous gulf between them, and it left her hollow inside.
Last month she’d been at the stitching circle and each of the ladies was practicing poppet magic. The little cloth dolls danced and frolicked in anticipation of whatever task they were intended for. Hers lay there, looking still and unresponsive. It was to be a creative muse for her magic. She figured if she could cast a spell and have a poppet work on some of her overdue plot lines and synopses, she’d be ahead of the game. No such luck.
The stitching circle, full of her mother’s old friends, thought it was hilarious. Now on top of her writing schedule, it was her responsibility to keep Broomstix going. People depended on her, and she was trying to learn as much as she could. Gaining the knowledge she needed wasn't going as smooth as she’d like.
Her gaze raked the cluttered counter where her husband paid bills and recoiled. No way was she touching that. “Not a chance.” Then she remembered Russ had the same model laptop she did. She could borrow his charger and pick hers up tomorrow when she went back into work. Problem solved.
“I’m out. See you tonight,” came the clipped response from the front hallway followed by the slamming of the decorative lead glass door. He hadn’t even come into the kitchen. Not even for coffee.
“Wow.” Now she knew he was avoiding her and likely hiding something. Magdalay shook her head, the bitterness of her new reality sliding down her stomach like a Ping Pong ball. His behavior stung, and she didn’t know what to make of it. She moved down the hall, her linen nightgown floating around her legs. In the Texas heat, it helped to have something comfortable and the Eileen West nightgowns were her guilty pleasure. Goddess knew she needed something.
She paused in the doorway to his office and sighed. Goddess, she hated invading his space. Maybe the charger was right out in the open and she could snap it up and be out before she disturbed anything of importance. Then she saw it. Propped on a pile of paperwork next to his computer was her small, holiday design-covered Ziploc bag with her cord dangling off the desk over the top of it.
“What the heck?” Her lips slid into a frown and she unclenched her hands. He took it. Probably to do the same thing she’d been about to do, but at least she would have replaced his where she found it as soon as she was done. She reached down to pick up the bag and wind up the charging cord, and her hand brushed the mouse on his desk, the darkened screen erupting to life. His e-mail was up. She wouldn’t have stopped save for the name on the screen.
WTF?
Slowly, Magdalay lowered herself into the chair and began to read. She hadn’t meant to intrude on his privacy. They’d always respected each other enough to be honest. At least she’d always thought so. But with every line she read, the trust she believed her marriage was based on was revealed to be nothing more than a lie.
She hated wives who resorted to sneaking into their husband’s phone records and all of those things to find out what they’d been up to. Now, here she was, and she didn’t have a clue what to do about it. What was done was done and couldn’t be taken back. One e-mail turned into two. Two turned into a dozen, and at that point she had to stop, the contents of her stomach churning like wildfire in her gut.
Fuck me. Fuck me like you did in your office.
I want it all.
You motherfucker.
Tears stung her eyes. There was no other explanation was there? It was all laid out in black and white. The only thing missing was a frigging video of them fornicating. Her stomach lurched.
The lump in her throat threatened to overtake her, and she had to pause and take a deep breath. Her mother’s absence was a raw and gaping wound. Eleanor would have known what to do, but Magdalay was frozen with indecision. Her thoughts turned to the ladies in her stitching circle. They met once a month but it wasn’t scheduled until next week. Goddess, but she sure could use some comfort now. Or at least, a sounding board for her fury. Her fingertips itched to zot the fucker but no…not yet. Not that she was fully capable, but her circle was. She’d seen it time and again.
But the emails…she read the last line again.
I want to run my fingers down your long, long legs and part your… She had to stop. Nausea threatened to overwhelm her once again.
“You cheating bastard,” she whispered. She had to be sure. It was possible it was only emails. In her heart, she knew that was a lie. Magdalay stood, her knees shaking and made her way out of Russ’s office to her work space in the kitchen. She hooked up the laptop to the charger and shoved the plug into the wall.
Magdalay considered her options. She could wait and confront him when he got home. Whenever that would be.
No.
Or she could hex him where he stood and watch as his dick shriveled up and fell off. A tiny smile twitched at the corner of her lips at the idea. If only. With her luck, she’d turn him into an overlarge piece of beef jerky and have to explain that one to the police.
Not a good idea. Her magic was unpredictable at best. She’d hid it from him, not wanting to go there. It wasn’t her fault she was born a witch. It was her choice whether or not to use it. If something needing a spell came up, she waited until her hubby was off doing engineer things or sleeping in front of the television. Proof. She needed more proof. The laptop whirled to life and she pulled up her search engine.
What about a private detective? She had a little mad money put aside for the dress she wanted for the romance writer’s convention in a few months. Magdalay had no idea what the detective would cost, but she had to know. With unblinking eyes she typed, private investigator Spinnaker, Texas then she closed her eyes, rolled the mouse, and clicked on the Blue Moon Detective Agency.

Hi, thank you for inviting me to your blog to talk about my latest book from Evernight.
An Unusual Vacation
I originally expected this story to be a short, but as the plot developed and the characters took over, the story grew and grew, and still there’s more to tell, because one of the supporting characters, Connor, is going to have his own story.
Dominic Carr, my hero and Michelle Vega, my heroine, couldn’t be more different, but they are instantly drawn to each other and the resulting passion between them is intense. Dominic’s hopes are high, making him vulnerable. Michelle is involved in a dangerous lifestyle far removed from Dominic’s, but she’s lonely. This opens her up to taking chances when she meets Dominic.
I love water, rivers, and the ocean. They have their own very special atmosphere, and I wanted to flavor the story setting with the sounds, and smells of sun drenched harbor towns, wide rivers and boats, to provide contrast with the suspense element of the story.
When you read the story and Dominic sails away on vacation. Think Monterey or the marinas in the Caribbean or the Florida keys. The sky is Grecian blue, the air and water sparkles. There’s the smell of salt and sea, and wheel of seagulls as the couple walk on the quay together.

At thirty-two Dominic Carr thinks it’s time he met a girl he could love. He’s tired and jaded from his high power job, and hoping that this summer’s vacation will be refreshing. When he sees Michelle Vega in the art gallery of a harbor town he visits, her long legs in pink couture shorts grab his attention.
Michelle Vega has everything to hide except her beauty and her instant attraction to Dominic. She’s not on vacation as she visits the gallery—more like on business.
As the two of them fall into a hot romance, Dominic is sure Michelle could be ‘the one,’ but Michelle is filled with doubt when she considers how he might react to discovering her secrets.
When Michelle’s business takes a dangerous twist Dominic finds he’s pulled into a perilous situation.
Will this be a test of his love or the finish of it?

Read an excerpt: Dominic sees Michelle for the first time
A sunbeam slanted through the skylight as if aiming for Dominic’s face. He opened his eyes and rolled away from the bright shaft of light. His head safely on the other side of the pillow, Dominic checked the time on his cell phone that lay on the bedside unit. The day looked beautiful through the cabin window as he sat up and swung his legs onto the floor. He pulled on a T-shirt over his boxers and padded into the galley to make coffee. Dominic went up on deck and took his cup of coffee with him. The clear, blue sky and the sun-dappled water brought a smile to his face. The marina around his berth was already full of life, and he sat to watch a fabulous motor yacht edge out of a berth and move majestically into deeper water. Hunger drove him to shower and dress. He had food in the fridge to cook, but Dominic knew there was a great café in this town next to an art gallery and he meant to visit both that morning.
Mellowed by the blueberry pancakes he’d eaten, the sun on his shoulders as he sat at one of the café’s outdoor tables lifted his spirits. Summer scented the air and Dominic took a deep breath. I needed this change. It feels as if I’ve suddenly entered the real world…
His thoughts made him grin as he paid the bill, and left the café. The art gallery, a door down, was showing several local artists’ work and the traveling exhibition on loan from a private collector housed a number of Monet paintings Dominic wanted to see. He’d never thought about joining the art world himself, but Dominic liked to look. It gave him a sense of peace.
A poster on the revolving door proclaimed there was a small fee that week because of the Monets. The gallery had two floors. The rooms were long, stretching back in the deceptively spacious building, with padded benches placed at intervals for people to sit and absorb the art. Dominic donated at the plastic box attached to the screen midway down the first floor of the gallery designating the entrance to the special exhibition. He wanted to see that first.
Over an hour later, Dominic left the Monet exhibition, and wandered along to the top room of the art gallery. He saw the young woman the moment he reached the top of the stairs. She sat part way down the left hand side, on one of the blue benches. Dominic couldn’t tear his gaze away as he edged closer to where she sat. She wore a pale-pink suit jacket and her glossy hair fell down her back, almost to her waist. Her lightly tanned legs were bare and she wore bright pink, high-heeled pumps. Dominic couldn’t see a skirt. Intrigued, he stopped at the painting adjacent to the one she sat in front of, and cast a secret glance at her. Shorts, mmm, she’s beautiful. He passed behind the bench trying to ascertain if she wore a wedding ring. Luck gave him a perfect opportunity as she moved her hair from her face, giving him a delightful view of a naked wedding band finger and her lovely profile. Dominic’s heart raced. Surprise at his reaction to the young woman gripped him, and he walked rapidly across the width of the gallery to stand before an ocean scene and try to collect his swirling thoughts.

Excerpt:

“He’s been missing for months. How can you not care?” Marcus Pendleton ground out, staring at his father in disbelief. The king sat on his throne gnawing on a turkey leg, grease sliding down his pudgy face.
“Because my boy, Rhys was the younger son. He may have been a prince, but you’re the one who will inherit the throne.”
“So why did you bother searching the kingdom for a princess and having a ball?”
The king narrowed his eyes at his son. “That happened to be for you. Scheduling a dragon-hunting trip for that weekend was in atrocious form. Your mother was highly disappointed.”
“I’ll bet.” Marcus kicked his foot against the dais. He fought down the urge to shift and show his father his extreme displeasure. No doubt the old man would have an apoplectic fit if he found out his son had been bitten and turned into the one animal he despised the most. Not even a beast like a wolf, but merely a cat. His father loathed the animals and forbade having them on the castle grounds.
“You need to focus on finding yourself a princess, not running about the kingdoms slaying beasts and bothering with that fool brother of yours. The last time anyone saw him, he was following some skirt around and blathering on about a missing shoe.” His father shuddered, holding his hand up in disgust. “There were twelve of them. All dressed alike too. The men were talking about it. Prattling, dancing, blonde things with wings.” His wandering eye drifted toward a serving wench with a rather tight bodice.
Marcus couldn’t believe his ears. Twelve of them? That didn’t sound right. Neither did his father’s decision not look for Rhys. It was unthinkable. Right now, if he could have, he would dump his inheritance in his father’s lap and be done with him. The man’s priorities were limited to two things. Food and sleep.
No. Make it three. His father had the wandering eye of a lecherous pig farmer. He didn’t know how his mother stood it. Given the chance, he was surprised she hadn’t chucked him over the palace walls years ago and been done with it.
“Wait, Father. Did you say he was sniffing around a girl with a missing shoe?”
“Yes,” his father chuffed. “What of it?”
“What of it, indeed…” Marcus stalked out of the throne room, an idea forming in his head. Someone else must have seen a shoeless maiden, and he was damn well going to find out what was going on. And twelve girls all dressed the same? How very odd indeed. He wasn’t known as the best tracker in the two kingdoms for naught. If he couldn’t find out something about them, he may as well go sit up in the tower and sew with his mother’s handmaidens.
“Marcus. Come back here. Marcus!”
He shut the door on his father’s ranting, encountering his servant boy on the other side of the door.
“Geoffrey, Saddle my horse. Tonight we ride.”

Excerpt:

The door was open to the other bedroom, and when I reached to close it I heard the rustling of covers in the room. The glow of the moon drowned Gray’s room in silver light. I watched him adjust the pillow under his head as he stared up at the ceiling. His warm liquorcolored eyes glinted kaleidoscopic colors in the moonlight. I started to pull the door closed, and his eyes met mine. I froze. Parts of my gut that hadn’t experienced the waves of anticipation in years twisted like a there was a hurricane inside of me.
Without speaking he scooted over in his bed and threw the covers back. My brain willed my body to move into the room, and in seconds I was next to his bed.
“One more night, Izaac.”
“I’m afraid it’ll only complicate what I’ve made a mess of, Gray.”
“I’m good at unraveling complications. Come here, cowboy.”
He was good at unraveling my willpower, too.
I slipped into the bed. “I wish I could offer you more than tonight.”
“I wish for a lot of things, but I’m not asking for anything more than this night.”
What words couldn’t express our bodies would. Gentle and unhurried kisses prolonged our progress. Seven days with Grayson had more passion and connection than the last five years of my life. Those years had been the abysmal pit of repentance. Every move I made was calculated to prevent and eliminate relationships with people, but now I had people who wanted to have me in their lives. I was going to lose the most important person I’d ever had in my life.
“Gray?” I whispered in his ear.
“What?”
“I could still be a good guy to you.”
“Izaac, it’s okay to still care about Quinton, but I won’t compete with a ghost for your heart. It’s too hard to wonder if I’m the one in your mind at any given time or if you’ll leave when a memory of him overwhelms you.”
“I’ve held on for so long that I think maybe I’m just a living ghost myself.”
“Then let me show you that you’re alive.”
His stubble abraded across the skin of my chest, and I fisted his hair as he explored every dip and inch down my stomach. If I couldn’t give him more, I could give him tonight. He deserved more, but this would have to do.

Introduction By International Bestselling Author C.K. Laurence
I was so honored when Muffy Wilson asked me to write the introduction to this holiday compendium of the bestselling Literotica authors that could be found that I immediately dropped my pants and pulled on my ho hos to begin deliberation on how I could possibly do justice to the joy, love, humor and sincere holiday spirit in PUT YOUR HO HOs ON.
Sleigh bells rung in my head here in 90 degree Miami Beach heat and I tingled in all those special places as I read each of the best selling Literotica author's entries. It was so buoying to be one of the first to have the opportunity to read the entire collection of delightful tales of love, romance and hot sex--in the spirit of Christmas!
Relax in your most comfortable chair--or if you're reading it with one of your particularly special partners you might be more comfy wearing your birthday suit and cuddling in bed. You are about to read the works of over twenty bestselling Literotica authors, all carefully chosen for their always titillating books and the most capable to write these erotic tales of six-pack Santas, hung so well that you'll have sugar plum genitals dancing in your heads! (OOOOPS! Did I say that out loud?)
I'm going to turn the anthology over to you now, because even if you're not breathing a little heavier just yet, you will be when you get to the 'meat' of the stories. So put your ho hos on and get ready for the hottest winter holidays ever!

I can now tell my mother-in-law that I understand.
Ten years ago, after the bombings that claimed many lives in Bali, my in-laws insisted on continuing with their plans to return to the tiny volcanic island. I didn't understand their need and feared that my newborn son would miss out on getting to know his grandparents. Bali, while a popular destination for many Aussies, was never one that endeared me enough to overcome my fear of flying (Actually, I'm fine with the smooth bits of the flight, it's just the take off, landing and turbulence. Then I'm making sure my affairs are in order in my head and kissing my ass goodbye).
But today, after hearing of the attacks in Paris, I can honestly say I now understand my in-laws need. Paris holds a special place in my heart. It was the place in which my then 6ft 4 boyfriend overcame his fear of heights (I know! Ironic isn't it? Someone so tall being afraid of heights). He climbed the Eiffel Tower, with a lot of loving encouragement from me ("If that old woman can climb the tower surely you can.") and he proposed in the pouring rain. That man is now my husband, so I think you can guess my answer. Of course Karma had a very fast way of humbling me. On the way down the skies lit up. Now lightning is something I fear, and I was descending the largest conductor in the vicinity in an electrical storm. That was thirteen years ago, but my love for the place hasn't diminished. If I was lucky enough to have tickets booked to Paris for tomorrow (or whenever the borders are reopened), I wouldn't hesitate in going.
To those affected by yesterday's attacks, you're in my heart and thoughts.

Hi, thank you for inviting me to your lovely blog today with The Venn Pack in Love.

The Venn Pack in love started with, Surprising the Alpha, originally written for an anthology, but then ultimately developed into a full-length story, and the first in ‘The Venn Pack in Love’ series.
All the heroes are the sexy alpha types, but vulnerable, and hoping for love. Their heroines are feisty, and once the wolf shifter bond is formed, crave their mate as much as he adores them. It’s very steamy, but all the same, the plots are complex and a mix of sub-genre, mystery, suspense, erotic romance, paranormal romance, and adventure.
I wanted this wolf-shifter pack to be different and have none of the sometimes hackneyed
wolf-lore found in this type of story.

Surprising the Alpha, The Venn Pack in Love
The town is dying after a new highway takes its previous through traffic and custom away from shops, cafes, the bars and tourist attractions. The Venn wolf-shifter pack and alpha, Joshua Venn, are suffering. They’ve lived happily in the town as humans and like it, but now they’re threatened with slinking back to a woodland den with their tails between their legs.
One day Dani Cruz and her brother Jason hit town. They’re entrepreneurs whose business is urban regeneration and they intend to save this town. Only one person resents their arrival, alpha wolf-shifter Joshua. Will his determination to be the only one who saves his pack drive the town to ruin? Or will something happen that changes his life forever?
Joshua Venn is looking for answers. It’s one hot summer and someone hides a secret.
This alpha is in for more than one surprise.
4 twinkling stars from Readers' favorite
“The story was well-written and full of details. I enjoyed the plot and its resolution to the story......Dani is a surprising heroine. She is smart and determined. The two (Joshua and her) have an intense chemistry that is fun to read about It had some unexpected twists that held me captivated.”

Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love 2
New release and already a Siren bestseller, 'Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love 2 is an exciting mix of erotic romance, suspense and paranormal romance for all you shifter lovers.

Liberty Venn longs for love after her alpha brother, Joshua, found it with Dani Cruz. It’s a year after the Cruz entrepreneurs have regenerated the town and saved Liberty from closing her cafe.
When a stranger arrives in town, he instantly captures lonely Liberty’s attention. Drawn to him by a deep undeniable instinct, Liberty loses her heart when Eden Farrell flirts with her.
Will he be the lover she’s begun to long for?

As a deep bond forms between them, danger follows Eden. He’s in love with Liberty, and believes nothing will keep him from her. Trouble is; danger is out to find them both.

Captive Wolf, The Venn Pack in Love 3
When Ryder Venn sets out to do a favor for his alpha brother, Joshua, he thinks it’s just an ordinary day. Little does he know the horror and adventure that awaits him. Captured and tortured by shifter hunters, Ryder wakes to the gentle care of Evie Thomas.
As Ryder Venn falls in love with the mysterious girl who nurses his wounds and feeds him, Evie discloses her reason for being part of the hunter’s group. She’s infiltrated the club, determined to avenge her brother’s death at one of their leader’s hands. As Evie reveals her identity and plans to Ryder, they fall into a heated and passionate love affair. Meanwhile, the shifter hunters plot to force Ryder into cage fighting. He approached slowly. “The river is hard to resist. I swim here sometimes.” About a pace away his breath left him when his gaze alighted on the V between her legs where her thighs met as she sat on the end of the jetty. The breeze had picked up the end of her shirt, blowing it back to display the black silk panties she wore. They stopped way below her hips and an expanse of creamy skin greeted his hungry gaze. He couldn’t tear his eyes from the enticing sight. Her voice reached him through a fog of lust.
“You live in town then?”
Joshua raised his eyes to her face. She showed no signs of knowing he stared at her body, or of worry that she showed off her panties. Well, if she were swimming, she’d be wearing a bikini, so I guess I’d be ogling the same kind of view. He smiled at his thought and her, a flood of some warm emotion mellowing his previous bad temper. He drank in the sight of her, her huge golden-green eyes, pert button nose, those luscious lips, the endearing sprinkle of freckles across her cheeks, and the silky tendrils of hair caressing her lovely neck. He’d never felt anything like the rush of intense desire and tenderness that forced him to squat beside her. “I do live here. I was born here.” His cock was hardening and the squat helped him disguise the bulge in his jeans. A sigh rose in his throat. His wolf nature knelt before her. How good would it be to kiss her? How would it feel to sink my cock in her pussy? She’s so lovely. Lovely wasn’t a word Joshua used too much in his life, but now lovely echoed in his brain all the time. He quickly licked his suddenly dry lips. “I’ve not seen you before. Are you a tourist?” Lovely one, he added in his mind.

Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love, 2
Joshua gazed at him. “You’re used to this shit, aren’t you? So much for not bringing danger. I have half a mind to run you out of town after this and tell Liberty you’ve left her. She’ll get over you. She’s strong.”
Eden felt his stomach tighten with anger. His eyes burned, and he knew the glow was back. He glared at Joshua. “The hell you will. Liberty and I have a bond, a wolf bond, and you fucking know what that means. I can’t live without her and she’ll pine for me. How about you try living without Dani? How’d you feel about that?”
Joshua looked away. He sighed. “Is this your fault?”
Eden rubbed his forehead. “I don’t think so. I honestly believe this was some weird coincidence. Let’s do this. First the rental and then the other stuff.”
Joshua shook his head. “I’ll get Lucas out here. We need to deal with all the vehicles at once.”
Eden sighed heavily. “How long will that take? No, we can do this. Do you know a cliff top or not?”

Captive Wolf , The Venn Pack in Love 3
Evie freed her hands from his and ran her fingertips up his chest. She caressed his jaw.
“Do you want dinner now or after I make love to you?”
Ryder’s eyes widened at her. “Here? Can anyone see us?”
Evie smiled. “Ah, so if no one can see us you’d like that?” She’d worn her hair loose, and it fell down over her shoulder in dark waves.
Ryder reached out and wound a length around his hand. He brushed her breast with his fingertips and her nipple peaked through her fine cotton T-shirt. He flicked his gaze to hers and traced her nipple with his thumb.
Evie’s body went into melt down. She closed her eyes and sighed with pleasure, trailing her fingertips carefully down Ryder’s body. She wanted to make love to him, but not hurt him.
Evie moved the quilt and opened her eyes to see what she’d revealed. She ran her tongue over her lips and traced the shape of his erection, over the head and down the rock-hard column with a trembling fingertip. She bent and kissed Ryder’s lips.
Ryder murmured against her mouth, “Evie, this feels so good. I want you so badly.”
She sat up and pulled off her T-shirt. Her breasts pushed out, the nipples hard and she brought his hands to hold them.
“I want you, too.” Her voice reduced to a whisper, she grasped his cock as he gently kneaded her breasts. Evie savored the feel of him, and acutely aware of the torture he’d endured, she softened her touch as her fingertips reached his balls.
Ryder opened her jeans and Evie stood to let him push them down her thighs.
She took them off and stood before him in her panties. A tremble went through her. The desire welling up inside her was so strong her clit buzzed and her pussy throbbed. She could hardly wait to feel him inside her.
He took a deep breath. “You are lovely,” he whispered. He leaned to her and kissed along her stomach and hips, his hands gentle on the sides of her body.
Evie drifted in the pleasure of his touch. Her stomach tightened under his lips. She angled her hips to him wanting, needing his fingers inside her. Her pussy clenched and cream drenched her panties.
Ryder made a soft sound and plunged a hand down inside them. “I can sense your need. Your scent’s beguiling.” He ran a finger around her folds, and then he pushed two cream-coated fingers into her. “Fucking hell, you feel like heaven.” He nuzzled her breasts as he fingered her, making low sexy sounds that sent tingles racing over every inch of Evie’s body.
